New Moon



The new moon is only hours away, which is a great time to start new projects. This is why I chose to start my blog now. This is the first blog I have ever had, so I'm hoping it will bring reflection and evaluation in a new form. Reflection and evaluation is very important to me. The only way that new lessons can be learned is if we are constantly reflecting on our past actions to see if they worked well or if something needs to be changed. The new moon is a perfect time for this. Let the new moon's energy penetrate through any old habits that you would like to get rid of. The following ritual can be done under the new moon to bring about the elimination of undesirable habits, mental processes, emotions, relationships or anything else that is bothering you or causing you difficulty in your life. After you work on eliminating the bad, you can focus on manifesting the good. Use the energy of the new moon to help boost your new lifestyle.


New Moon Ritual

You will need:
1 black candle
the energy of the new moon
yourself

Part I

Eliminating the Bad

Begin the ritual by grounding and centering. Once you feel ready to continue light your black candle and focus on it. Think about any of the bad habits or negative processes that you would like to eliminate from your life. Get a very clear picture of them in your mind and then imagine yourself placing them into a black box, with a large brass lock on it. Place all of them in one by one until they are all in the box. Now chant these words:

Bad habits you are gone
locked in this box
you shall not return.

Chant this as many times as you feel necessary. Now, imagine yourself closing the box and locking it. In your mind, imagine digging a hole and burying the box.

Part II

Manifesting the Good

To help manifest the good, imagine your life without the habits that you wish to eliminate. For example, if you are quitting cigarettes, replace your usual cigarette with a green tea in your visualization. If you usually get up and have a cigarette in the morning, instead imagine yourself having a green tea. This is only a suggestion. Be creative and imagine yourself doing anything but engaging in that bad habit. After you are finished the ritual, allow the black candle to burn out (in a safe place of course) and let all of the energy you just focused on make its way through the universe, so it can help you achieve your goal.
