The Witch's Pyramid

The witch's pyramid (also known as the Four Powers of Magus or the Four Secrets of the Sphinx) is the foundation of esoteric magick. You cannot achieve the fifth goal if you do not master the first four. The pyramid is as follows:

To Know

This means that you will acquire as much knowledge as you can throughout your lifetime. You should never stop the process of learning, which means that no person is ever done learning. This also means that if you come across a philosophy or idea that makes more sense to you, than a current one, you will not be afraid to change your mind. You should also apply your knowledge to your life. This aspect of the pyramid is associated with the element of Air.

To Dare

Learn to be unafraid of trying new things and have faith in the universe and its lessons for you. Believe in yourself and your power, as an extension of the Lord and the Lady. You are an extension of the divine, therefore you are capable of magick. This aspect of the Witch's Pyramid is associated with the element of Water.

To Will

This means that you will be an active participant in the world. You will use your power, as part of the divine, to manifest positivity in your life. You will work hard to reach your goals in this life. It also means that you will actively practice meditation and visualization, as a tool toward success. This aspect of the pyramid is associated with the Fire element.

To Be Silent

This is a very important aspect of the Witch's Pyramid and one that many have a hard time following. The basic meaning of this is that you do not discuss your magickal workings with others because their energy will interfere with its manifestation before it has a chance to be. But this also means that you do not share your knowledge of the craft with people who are not interested in learning about it. As Wiccans, we believe that every person finds their own path to Spirit. We do not try to recruit people or persuade them to become Wiccan. You can definitely make the knowledge available to them if they would like it, but never in a way that assumes Wicca is superior and never against their will. This aspect of the pyramid is associated with the Earth element.

To Go

This means that you have achieved all four aspects of the pyramid and you use them to improve your life and the lives of others. This aspect of the Witch's Pyramid is associated with Spirit.
